What we finance, in one place

Fund My Equipment approves commercial-equipment financing direct. The 22 categories above cover most of the working equipment that runs US businesses: construction, trucking, medical imaging, manufacturing tooling, agricultural machinery, trailers and commercial vehicles, material handling, restaurant and food service equipment, landscape and tree-care equipment, auto-shop equipment, and the more specialized categories that surround them.

Within each category, equipment-specific pages cover the financing structures that actually fit that asset class, the rate ranges we approve on it, the financing review questions that come up most often, and the documentation a vendor needs to produce for funding to close cleanly. That detail matters because a $1.4M MRI system, a $48K skid steer, and a $128K Class 8 sleeper truck all finance differently, even when the borrower is identical.

How financing differs by equipment class

Heavy iron and titled vehicles (Class 8 trucks, semi-trailers, large construction equipment) involve title transfer, often interstate, and apportioned plate timing on commercial vehicles. Funding cycles include 1-4 weeks of title work on top of standard review. Manufacturer captive financing (CAT Financial, Daimler, PACCAR) competes hard on new equipment.

Production equipment (CNC mills, fiber laser cutters, injection molding cells, food processing lines) finances on longer terms aligned with the longer useful life. Installation and integration costs commonly add 15-40 percent to the equipment quote and either bundle into the financed amount or come out of pocket at delivery. Contract-backed purchases price 50-150 basis points better than capacity-build deals.

Medical imaging and clinical equipment trades on service contracts as much as on the equipment itself. Annual service on an MRI or CT routinely runs 8-15 percent of equipment cost. Bundling first-year service into the financing is standard; bundling multi-year service into a TRAC lease structure with manufacturer captive often wins on rate.

Compact equipment and tools (skid steers, mini excavators, forklifts, small CNC) closes fastest on app-only programs (typically $150K and under) with same-day approvals and 48-72 hour funding once title clears. Used compact equipment from authorized dealers often finances at near-new terms.

Rate factors across every category

The three variables that drive most rate spread we see — across every equipment category and every lender program — are credit profile (FICO plus business credit), time in business, and the gap between equipment useful life and term length. A 7-year term on a 5-year-life asset prices differently than a 5-year term on a 12-year-life asset, even at identical credit and TIB. Aligning the term to the asset is where lender programs separate.

Down payment elasticity is the fourth lever. Lenders trade 50-150 basis points for skin in the game, more on credit-challenged applications. On standard prime programs zero-down is common; on fair-credit and startup programs 10-20 percent down opens up the appetite.

Program archetypes we approve

Across the categories, the program archetypes we approve fall into a few recognizable shapes. Standard prime programs are app-only to $250K for 24+ months in business, prime credit, fastest approval and lowest rate. Established mid-market programs run full-financials review for mid-tier credit with broader equipment-age windows. Fair-credit specialty programs approve below prime with structured down payment and personal guarantee. Captive-style financing handles new-equipment structures with promotional rates and longer terms. Specialty programs handle credit-challenged, post-bankruptcy, new-authority trucking, startup medical practices, and other narrow buyer profiles where standard programs decline.

Which program a given application fits is determined by the soft-pull pre-qualification step. The same buyer approves differently for a $50K skid steer than for a $500K production cell, because the deal economics differ. The program-tier match matters as much as the application itself.
